How to Add a User to Many or All Active Google Classrooms
This post will outline the steps taken to add a Student/teacher or a co-teacher to many or all active classrooms. GAT+ facilitates this using the Flow tool.
Launch GAT Flow and navigate to the ‘Create workflow‘ section.
Adding a New Student to many or all classes
The name given to this workflow for this example is ‘Adding new student to classrooms‘. ‘Onboarding’ workflow is used to initiate the process, once selected click next to proceed to choose the student to onboard.
Next, select the domain that you would like to take these actions. for this example, ‘gedudemobsn.com‘ is used.
Multiple parameters can be defined for the scope of the actions, below used are,
- ‘First Name’,
- ‘First letter of first name‘,
- ‘First letter of last name‘
After populating the fields accordingly, click to ‘Add new user‘ if additional students need to be onboarded and added to the intended classrooms. Otherwise ‘proceed to actions‘ to move onto ‘choosing actions‘ for the new student.
The next step is to configure the actions for the selected student, GAT flow offers many action sets that can be configured in the same workflow. for this example, the action set ‘Add user(s) as student to Google Classrooms‘ is used.
When selecting the action set it will pop up on the right side as shown below with the option to select all or many classes, whatever the case may be.
When approval is requested the tool will take you to the Workflow section where a record of the previous workflows is presented with status updates. Once the ‘Security Officer‘ nominated for this role approves the request then the actions will be executed.
Adding a new teacher as a Co-teacher to Google Classrooms
For adding a new teacher as a Co-teacher to Google classrooms repeat the steps above until you reach the action sets where you can select the option below and populate the field accordingly.

Adding a C0 – Teacher to all Google Classrooms in Bulk
Another way of assigning a teacher to all Google classrooms in bulk is to take advantage of the import/export functionality of GAT+ tool.
To do this navigate to the Classroom section in the GAT+ too. Select all active classes and then export them to a spreadsheet as outlined below.
Once exported, Select the Column Teachers and add a new blank column to the right.
