Whereby a particularly high\u00a0<strong>58% expressed criticism of teachers\u2019 efforts<\/strong>\u00a0to address online harassment and cyberbullying.<\/p>\n<p class=\"reader-text-block__paragraph\">Additionally, <strong>one in three parents worldwide (33%)<\/strong> report knowing a child who had been cyberbullied, a percentage that\u2019s been increasing globally since 2011, according to <a href=\"http:\/\/pressoffice.mg.co.za\/ipsos\/PressRelease.php?StoryID=284412#author\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Ipsos<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"reader-text-block__paragraph\">The Effect of Cyberbullying on Students<\/h3>\n<p class=\"reader-text-block__paragraph\">Just like face-to-face bullying, cyberbullying can have\u00a0<strong>destructive effects<\/strong>, including:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Drops in school grades and\/or loss of interest in education.<\/li>\n<li>Low self-esteem.<\/li>\n<li>Depression.<\/li>\n<li>Hostile behavior.<\/li>\n<li>Suicidal tendencies (Cyberbullying victims under 25 are more than twice as likely to self-harm and develop\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2023\/02\/13\/nyregion\/nj-teen-suicide-bullying-school.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">suicidal tendencies<\/a>, according to a\u00a0study).<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p class=\"reader-text-block__paragraph\">Cyberbullying has effects beyond self-harm as well.
