GAT+ | Find Unused Google Classrooms and Take Action 1

Find all Google Classrooms in your domain, created more than a year ago and still active

Open GAT+ then select Classrooms

GAT+ | Find Unused Google Classrooms and Take Action 2

Select Classrooms on the top and apply a custom filter.

 

GAT+ | Find Unused Google Classrooms and Take Action 3

Select Type to Simple filter

In Definition add the search parameters

Created before (this day last year) – use any period you would like.

Set the State equals to Active.

Click on Apply and the result will display all Active classrooms that were created more than a year ago (time frame you selected).

The result will show the status of Active and all created before the time specified.

Click on Last Active to filter and see when was the last time the Classroom last used.

You can also see Deleted owner equals to Yes and No.

If Owner is deleted (Yes), no change can be done to this classroom as Google blocks any access to it via APIs

Click on the Column selection and you can see the number of students and teachers.

This list of Classrooms can be exported into a spreadsheet from the top right corner.

Note: Owner is deleted ( Deleted owner = Yes ) , it means that the Clasroom cannot be deleted – as Google blocks any access to this classroom via the APIs.

When exported you can change the status of the Active classrooms to Deleted and import back the changes.

A preview will be displayed with the changes that will occur after it is changed in the spreadsheet itself, click Accept to proceed.

The classrooms will be imported back and the state will be changed as Deleted.
