Find the Google classroom you want to change ownership to
Open GAT+ and navigate to Classrooms
Apply filter and search for the classroom you want to change ownership to.
Use any of the search parameters available to find what you are looking for.
When the classroom or classrooms are found.
The current owner must not be deleted or suspended, as Google blocks any access to the classrooms via API if the owner is deleted.
As in the screenshot below Deleted owner is equal to No.
Select on the export button on the top right and click to Export to Google Sheet
When the spreadsheet is exported change the owner and import back.
The course_id, join code, created and created by cannot be changed and are reflected in the spreadsheet with red color
As for this example:
Remove email@example.com and replace it with firstname.lastname@example.org
Replace the email address of the OWNER and close the spreadsheet, changes will be saved.
Then click on the import button.
Select the spreadsheet you were working on.
The OWNER column in the spreadsheet shows the current owner of the class if you plan on changing the OWNER column to a new owner (teacher’s email address).
The new owner will be automatically added as an additional teacher within the TEACHER column during the import process.
Note: you cannot transfer ownership to an account that is already added as a student in the STUDENT column.
Click Accept and the change of ownership will occur.
Close the tab and you will see the classroom has a new owner, while the original owner, remains in created by field, that cannot be changed.
This classroom will be under the control of the new Owner.
An email will be sent to the new owner.
In Google Classrooms, the new owner can see the classroom.
