Managed Guest Sessions<\/h2>\n

With managed guest sessions, multiple users can share the same device running Chrome OS without having to sign in to their Google Account.<\/p>\n

For example:<\/p>\n

Use managed guest sessions to configure Chrome devices as loaner devices, or shared computers.<\/strong><\/p>\n

With managed guest sessions, your users can have a full browsing experience and access multiple websites in windowed mode, not full-screen.<\/p>\n

GAT Shield on Managed Guest Session<\/h1>\n

GAT Shield<\/strong> can be set up and enabled for Managed Guest Session\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Prerequisite<\/b><\/h3>\n

Chromebooks must be enrolled,<\/strong> and the Managed Guest Session must be enabled<\/strong> for the chosen Device Org. Unit.<\/span><\/p>\n

These settings can be found in the Google Workspace admin console<\/a>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Go to Menu\u00a0\"""\"\"and\u00a0Devices > Chrome > Settings > Managed guest sessions settings<\/p>\n

From the General<\/strong> tab > Managed guest session<\/strong><\/p>\n

In Configuration<\/strong> > select Allow managed guest sessions\u00a0<\/strong>and enter the session name<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Deploy GAT Shield on Managed Guest Session (MGS)<\/span><\/h2>\n

Within Google\u2019s Workspace admin console, navigate to Devices \u2192 Chrome \u2192 Apps and Extensions \u2192 Users & browsers\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Select the OU where you want to deploy the Managed Guest Session<\/strong><\/p>\n

Select the Organizational Unit and then click on the plus + button.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Enter ID and URL<\/h3>\n

From the options shown, select <\/span>Add the Chrome app or extension by ID<\/b><\/p>\n

NOTE:<\/b> A pop-up window will be displayed, select the <\/span>From a custom URL <\/b>option.<\/span><\/p>\n

To\u00a0access and view the Extension ID and URL, navigate to\u00a0GAT Shield > Configuration > Extension deployment.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Find the ID and URL<\/h3>\n

To\u00a0access and view the Extension ID and URL, navigate to\u00a0GAT Shield > Configuration > Extension deployment.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Select the domain and view the ID, URL, and Policy for the extension<\/p>\n

\"Open<\/p>\n

When the Extension ID and URL<\/strong> are added,<\/strong> click on the “Save<\/strong>” button.<\/p>\n

Enable extension on the domain<\/h3>\n

The <\/span>Shield Extension is now installed.<\/b><\/p>\n

Click on the newly installed extension > a pop-up window will be displayed on the side > in the \u201c<\/span>Installation policy<\/b>,\u201d click and select \u201c<\/span>Force install<\/b>\u201c<\/span><\/h3>\n

Scroll down on the same window to the bottom of the page to find the <\/span>Policy for extensions\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n

Enter the Secret key, taken from\u00a0 <\/span>Shield<\/b> under <\/span>Help \u2013 Extensions deployment<\/b><\/p>\n

Under the \u201c<\/span>Permissions and URL access<\/b>\u201d field, click on and select \u201c<\/span>Allow all permissions\u201d.<\/b><\/p>\n

When all the changes are done, click on the <\/span>Save<\/b> button on the top right<\/span><\/p>\n

Results\u00a0<\/span><\/h2>\n

When Shield is enabled for Managed Guest Session, the users will be displayed in the Shield console as “<\/strong>anonymous-ChromeOS serial number@domain.com”<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Within the GAT Shield console, anonymous users on Managed Guest Sessions will appear without an email address and the text “anonymous-(serial. n)”.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n
