This guide demonstrates how to use GAT Shield<\/a> to restrict general YouTube<\/a> access while still permitting select videos. This configuration is ideal for minimizing distractions while allowing access to specific educational or informational content. What products are involved<\/p>\n

This solution is ideal if you want to apply precise control of the users visiting specific URLs.<\/p>\n

How to implement – YouTube Access Restrictions<\/h3>\n

Apply the Block rule<\/h4>\n

Navigate GAT Shield > Site Access Control > Rules<\/strong><\/p>\n

Select \u00a0Allow\/Block Sites\u00a0<\/strong>(quick allow \/ block sites for a user or group)<\/p>\n

    • Optional – Redirect URL – Enter the URL to which the user will be redirected.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n

    • Site list<\/strong> – enter the URL to be blocked<\/strong>\n

      • Optional – change the name of the rule<\/li>\n
      • Optional – Additional options – enter rule description<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n
      • Block<\/strong> – click to enable the rule and block the site for the scope of users<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

        The scope of users will be blocked and unable to visit the youtube.com <\/strong>webpage.<\/strong><\/p>\n

        In the allow list,<\/strong> we will add the URLs that the end-users will be allowed to open.<\/p>\n

              As a result, you would have two rules: one to block YouTube<\/strong> for selected users and one to allow specific URLs (videos)<\/strong> of YouTube for the same scope of users.<\/p>\n
