Do you want to find large files in your Google Workspace domain and safely delete them? With GAT+<\/a>, the Super Google workspace admins<\/a> can audit the drive data on the entire domain in great detail. Allowing the Admins to view all the files of the domain and filter by their size.<\/p>\n

As the storage of drive data becomes more expensive, GAT+<\/a> can allow you to filter and delete (after changing ownership) the files that use the most quota of your domain.<\/p>\n

Find Large Files in Google Workspace<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Navigate to GAT+ > Drive > Files<\/strong> and apply a filter<\/p>\n

In the filter search, by any filter you see appropriate for your use case.<\/p>\n

In this example:<\/p>\n

    \n
  • Type – not equal to Folder<\/li>\n
  • Flags – doesn’t contain – Shared drive<\/li>\n
  • Size (in bytes) – greater – 500 MB<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Enable the Size in the UI<\/strong> using the Column visibility.<\/strong><\/p>\n

    Take action on the files<\/h3>\n

    For Security reasons, GAT+ does not allow direct deletion of any files within the tool itself.<\/p>\n

    The Admin can change the ownership of the files and delete them from the Google Drive UI.<\/p>\n

    Select the files you want to change ownership.<\/p>\n

    \"Find<\/p>\n

    Use File management<\/strong> and change the owner. Fill in the details for the change.<\/p>\n

      \n
    • General – change ownership\n
        \n
      • Change the selected file’s owner<\/strong> – enter the email of the new owner (person who can delete the users)<\/li>\n
      • Move file<\/strong> – move the files directly to the new owner and not create shortcuts<\/li>\n
      • Custom path<\/strong> – enter the folder name where the files will be moved into\n
          \n
        • without ancestor path (used to not show “from which user the ownership is done from – optional )<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

          • Click on the “summary<\/strong>” to view the changes that will happen.<\/li>\n
          • Click on Send request<\/strong> when ready.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

            Security officer approval<\/h3>\n

            The security officer will receive an email to approve the request for the change.<\/p>\n

            The workflow must be approved.<\/p>\n

            Result of the ownership change<\/h3>\n

            As a result, the owners of the files will be changed.<\/p>\n

            View details of the change in the File Management log<\/strong> in GAT+ > Drive audit.<\/p>\n

            Delete files from Drive<\/h3>\n

            As a result of the ownership change, the new owner will have the big size files under My Drive > New folder created (DeleteFiles).<\/p>\n

            From there, the files can be deleted, and the Drive quota used by the users reduced.<\/strong><\/p>\n

            Important – permanently deleted files<\/h3>\n
