{"id":1409,"date":"2022-06-10T11:21:26","date_gmt":"2022-06-10T10:21:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/gatlabs.com\/knowledge\/?post_type=docs&#038;p=1409"},"modified":"2024-09-10T15:09:00","modified_gmt":"2024-09-10T14:09:00","password":"","slug":"find-and-delete-phishing-emails","status":"publish","type":"docs","link":"https:\/\/gatlabs.com\/knowledge\/tech-tips\/find-and-delete-phishing-emails\/","title":{"rendered":"Find and delete Phishing emails"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1>How to Find and delete Phishing emails in Google Workspace?<\/h1>\n<p>There are multiple reasons to have the ability to identify and remove emails that have been received by all or any of your domain users.<\/p>\n<p>Here are some unwanted scenarios:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Phishing<\/strong> emails<\/li>\n<li>An email is <strong>sent to the wrong<\/strong> user or group<\/li>\n<li>An email contains <strong>inappropriate<\/strong> content<\/li>\n<li>An email that contains <strong>sensitive information<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>An email that has gone past<strong> spam<\/strong> filtering<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>GAT+ allows <strong>admins<\/strong> to find and remove these emails from all accounts at once.<\/p>\n<h3>Find emails<\/h3>\n<p>To find the emails in <strong>real-time<\/strong> we will use <strong>Email Content Search\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><strong>Note:<\/strong> This will find any email as long as it exists in any of your users&#8217; email box.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>In GAT+ click on the <strong>Email<\/strong> tab then select <strong>Email Content Search<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-40421\" src=\"https:\/\/gatlabs.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/11\/screenshot-gs.generalaudittool.com-2020.11.19-17_59_12.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1371\" height=\"301\" \/><\/p>\n<p>In the &#8220;<strong>Query builder&#8221;<\/strong> enter\u00a0the search parameters.<\/p>\n<p>For this example, we search for the Email subject:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Query:<strong> subject: &#8220;Important email for Sales team&#8221;<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Scope:<strong> \/<\/strong> (top Org.unit)\u00a0 &#8211; include sub.OUs<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-40426\" src=\"https:\/\/gatlabs.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/11\/screenshot-gs.generalaudittool.com-2020.11.19-18_15_20.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1319\" height=\"303\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Click on <strong>Search emails\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The result will show all emails with the subject: <em>&#8220;Important email for Sales team&#8221;<\/em> &#8211; button above the result.<\/p>\n<p>This will show a menu with options:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Access &#8216;Unlock&#8217; grants<\/li>\n<li><strong>Create new access request<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Access permissions list<\/li>\n<li>Download e-mails (in .EML format)<\/li>\n<li>Download e-mails (in .PDF format)<\/li>\n<li>Remove e-mails (permanent &#8211; Pick the date until access to those emails will be granted<\/li>\n<li><strong>Message<\/strong> &#8211; Leave an (optional) Message to the Security officer<\/li>\n<li><strong>Additional permissions<\/strong> &#8211; select the emails (bulk) and click on the <strong>Email operations<\/strong> button<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-3645\" src=\"https:\/\/gatlabs.com\/knowledge\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/2022-06-10-17_06_23-GAT.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1586\" height=\"675\" srcset=\"https:\/\/gatlabs.com\/knowledge\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/2022-06-10-17_06_23-GAT.png 1586w, https:\/\/gatlabs.com\/knowledge\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/2022-06-10-17_06_23-GAT-300x128.png 300w, https:\/\/gatlabs.com\/knowledge\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/2022-06-10-17_06_23-GAT-1024x436.png 1024w, https:\/\/gatlabs.com\/knowledge\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/2022-06-10-17_06_23-GAT-768x327.png 768w, https:\/\/gatlabs.com\/knowledge\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/2022-06-10-17_06_23-GAT-1536x654.png 1536w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1586px) 100vw, 1586px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Bulk<\/strong> options will be available.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Download e-mails (EML)<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Download e-mails (PDF)<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Remove e-mails (permanent)<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Remove e-mails (trash only)<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>As a result, an Admin can apply a <strong>live search<\/strong> on the domain, find all <strong>phishing<\/strong> or <strong>accidental<\/strong> emails, request access to them to<strong> View <\/strong>their content,<strong> Download<\/strong> and <strong>Remove emails <\/strong>(individually or in bulk )<\/p>\n<h3>Restore deleted emails<\/h3>\n<p>If emails are deleted permanently and done by mistake they can be resoted via the Admin console for 25 days from the day of deletion.<\/p>\n<p>The process is explained in <a href=\"https:\/\/apps.google.com\/supportwidget\/articlehome?hl=en&amp;article_url=https%3A%2F%2Fsupport.google.com%2Fa%2Fanswer%2F112445%3Fhl%3Den&amp;assistant_id=generic-unu&amp;product_context=112445&amp;product_name=UnuFlow&amp;trigger_context=a\">this Google article\u00a0<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>How to Find and delete Phishing emails in Google Workspace?
