First, we have to find the file we would like to check the events for.<\/span> Finding the file can be as easy as opening the Drive Audit<\/a>, then the \u201cApply Custom Filter\u201d search option which will allow us to search using various different search parameters. <\/span><\/p>\r\n

Example Case<\/span><\/h3>\r\n

For our example case here:<\/span><\/p>\r\n

We select a simple filter and just search for the <\/span>File ID<\/b>\u00a0= 1gLTbLMA3-bxCoQyUJetw<\/strong><\/i>nQb21NY-Ljct<\/strong><\/p>\r\n\r\n

When the result is displayed, we can view all the events that occurred to the file simply by clicking on the Events tab\u00a0<\/strong>on the top<\/p>\r\n

The result will display all events that occurred on the file:<\/p>\r\n

  • Edit<\/li>\r\n
  • Download<\/li>\r\n
  • Change permission<\/li>\r\n
  • Add to folder\u00a0<\/li>\r\n
  • Etc<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n

    Events by Time, Edit, View, Download, Permission Removal, Etc.<\/h3>\r\n

    Under the\u00a0Event, <\/strong>you will see the different events by time, edit, view, download, permission removal, rename, and so on.<\/p>\r\n

    Note: The filter is called Events for the files from\u00a0selected page in Files tab.<\/strong> This means the result includes one page from the Files tab search we did.<\/blockquote>\r\n

    We can add an additional filter to this result, to search for specific events or by a specific user.<\/p>\r\n

    We Can Also Set Up and Generate a Report<\/strong><\/h3>\r\n

    For example, report to show new events associated with the file. This can be scheduled daily\/weekly and managers can be notified via email. This of course can be adjusted to your needs.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

    The screenshot below will display the events of View, Edit, or Download of the file<\/strong>. The reports will be generated daily\/weekly based on the date parameter we set up. Change the Type to “Filtered Files Search<\/strong>“, this is to include all results<\/strong> of the search not just one page from the Files filter<\/p>\r\n

    Note: If its Selected page in Files tab<\/strong> – will display only one page<\/blockquote>\r\n

    We then add the Date and then the event types.<\/p>\r\n

    Click on the Scheduled<\/strong> to set up the Occurance time of the report, when to be generated \u00a0 \u00a0<\/p>\r\n

    Example<\/h3>\r\n

    In this example, a weekly report will be generated showing the events types<\/strong> View, Edit, or Download to this particular file.<\/strong><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
