{"id":1648,"date":"2021-12-21T14:24:13","date_gmt":"2021-12-21T14:24:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/gatlabs.com\/knowledge\/?post_type=docs&#038;p=1648"},"modified":"2025-07-14T11:01:26","modified_gmt":"2025-07-14T10:01:26","password":"","slug":"alert-rules-location","status":"publish","type":"docs","link":"https:\/\/gatlabs.com\/knowledge\/tech-tips\/alert-rules-location\/","title":{"rendered":"Alert Rules &#8211; Location"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>Overview<\/h2>\n<p><strong>GAT Shield<\/strong>\u00a0supports the use of Location maps to provide alerting and\/or access control for Admins.<\/p>\n<p>The alerts can be set up in Shield.<\/p>\n<p>Open Shield and click on Alert rules under Alerts.<\/p>\n<h2>Alert rule Location<\/h2>\n<figure class=\"aligncenter is-resized\"><\/figure>\n<p>Select \u2018<strong>Add New Rule<\/strong>\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>A pop-up window will be displayed.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-image\">Add alert rule Location<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Set up a <strong>name<\/strong> for the Rule<\/li>\n<li>Select <strong>Type<\/strong> to be <strong>Location<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Select the <strong>action<\/strong> to take when the alert is triggered.\n<ul>\n<li><strong>GAT will generate an alert if a Shield instance is used outside of the selected location.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Adjust the <strong>warning message<\/strong> if needed.<\/li>\n<li>Select the<strong> alert severity<\/strong> to enrich the reporting of the alert.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-13944 size-large\" src=\"https:\/\/gatlabs.com\/knowledge\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/2025-07-04-15_41_41-Shield-1024x591.png\" alt=\"The image describes the process of creating an alert rule for users outside of a location.
