Set the checkmark to\u00a0<strong>Enabled. <\/strong>Set the\u00a0<strong>Type\u00a0<\/strong>to Drive.<\/p>\n<p>Choose the <strong>Scope<\/strong> of who will be affected by this alert rule<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>It can be a User, Group, or Org unit<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Pick and select the\u00a0<strong>Recipient, <\/strong>this can be a user or group email.<\/p>\n<p>The actual rules on which an alert will be generated are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Alert on the number of <strong>files downloaded<\/strong> (files in a 24 hour period)\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Search for an application that should be excluded from the alert<\/strong> &#8211; Downloads counted by this alert don&#8217;t have to come from an active user. Files downloaded by third-party applications will be counted too.\u00a0 This option won&#8217;t stop the 3rd party apps from downloading files, but it allows you to exclude apps from the alert rule to give a better view of what the actual user has downloaded.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Alert on the number of <strong>files shared out\u00a0<\/strong>(files in a 24 hour period)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>An additional rule can be added as an alert if the regex matches a newly &#8220;shared out&#8221; file (Google types only). Click on <strong>Save\u00a0<\/strong>to activate the rule.<\/p>\n<h3>Viewing Created Rules<\/h3>\n<p>When the rule<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>is created, it can be found in the <strong>Alert Rules <\/strong>under the <strong>Configuration. <\/strong>An admin can quickly see the name of the rule, the type of the rule if it is enabled, what scope, and the recipients.<\/p>\n<p>Under the <strong>Summary<\/strong> tab, an admin can see exactly the options enabled for this rule.<\/p>\n<p>Under the <strong>Actions\u00a0<\/strong>tab, the rule can be viewed (<strong>eye icon),\u00a0<\/strong>it can be\u00a0<strong>edited\u00a0<\/strong>from the\u00a0<strong>pen\u00a0<\/strong>icon or deleted from the\u00a0<strong>x\u00a0<\/strong>button.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-32710\" src=\"https:\/\/gatlabs.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/screenshot-gs.generalaudittool.com-2020.02.12-11_30_45.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1488\" height=\"201\" \/><\/p>\n<h3>Alert Triggered &#8211; Violation Occurred<\/h3>\n<p>When the rule is triggered, an email will be sent to the recipient with the rule name, the violations, and the list of files that triggered the alert.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-34678\" src=\"https:\/\/gatlabs.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/screenshot-gatlabs.com-2020.04.20-13_53_20.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1054\" height=\"817\" \/><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Introduction GAT+ allows Google Workspace admins to create Alerts for Drive usage.
