{"id":194,"date":"2021-11-10T02:06:03","date_gmt":"2021-11-10T02:06:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/gatlabs.com\/knowledge\/?p=194"},"modified":"2025-07-15T10:07:42","modified_gmt":"2025-07-15T09:07:42","password":"","slug":"delegated-auditors-functionality-2","status":"publish","type":"docs","link":"https:\/\/gatlabs.com\/knowledge\/tech-tips\/delegated-auditors-functionality-2\/","title":{"rendered":"GAT Shield Delegated Auditor"},"content":{"rendered":"\r\n<h2>GAT Shield Delegated Auditor<\/h2>\r\n<p>A Google Workspace Super Admin can add a user, group, or Org Unit as an\u00a0<strong>auditor<\/strong> to monitor a specific scope, such as a user, group, classroom, or Org Unit.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p><strong>Why is a Delegated Auditor needed? <\/strong><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>By default, the GAT Shield tool is accessible only to Workspace Super Admins. However, regular users are not prohibited from entering the tool.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p><strong>Example of Using a Delegated Auditor by a School District<\/strong><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>A school district in Texas, USA, has a Google Group for its lead teachers who regularly need to assess and track the performance of students who have been misbehaving or falling short on their performance.<\/p>\r\n<p>The Workspace Super Admin can give those head-teachers selective monitoring oversight while ignoring other students within the GAT Shield console.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Best of all, for Super Admins, after setting up a few delegation policies, they can have these policies exported to a spreadsheet, which can be manipulated in bulk, and the changes imported to take effect.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>A delegated auditor can be configured from the GAT Shield Console settings area or the GAT+ Console settings.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h3>Set up a delegated auditor<\/h3>\r\n<p>Navigate to <strong>GAT Shield &gt; Select auditor access in the audit and configuration areas.<\/li>\r\n<li>Configuration area &#8211; In the configuration areas, the selected Scope is ignored.\r\n<ul>\r\n<li>For selected areas, the auditor will have the same capabilities as administrators: access to all the data and the actions that can be performed.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<\/li>\r\n<li>Create &#8211;
