This extension allows the Google Workspace Super Admins to view and audit the browsing activity of the entire domain users.<\/p>\r\n<p>It is a DLP solution for a Google Workspace domain, allowing Google Admin to set up and use the tool as a Web Filter for the users and enabling Alerts to be generated based on the user browsing behavior while using GAT Shield in the <strong>Chrome browser. <\/strong>Admin can define what data will be monitored on the deployed extension.\u00a0<\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Admins can choose to monitor users by <strong>Networks<\/strong>, <strong>Users<\/strong>, and <strong>Chrome Devices.<\/strong><\/p>\r\n<p>Navigate to <strong>GAT Shield &gt; Configuration &gt; Monitoring Ranges\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\r\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-14023 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/gatlabs.com\/knowledge\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/Ranges-1-2.png\" alt=\"GAT Shield panel (1) showing the Monitoring ranges module (3) under the Configuration section (2). \" width=\"1849\" height=\"881\" srcset=\"https:\/\/gatlabs.com\/knowledge\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/Ranges-1-2.png 1849w, https:\/\/gatlabs.com\/knowledge\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/Ranges-1-2-300x143.png 300w, https:\/\/gatlabs.com\/knowledge\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/Ranges-1-2-1024x488.png 1024w, https:\/\/gatlabs.com\/knowledge\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/Ranges-1-2-768x366.png 768w, https:\/\/gatlabs.com\/knowledge\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/Ranges-1-2-1536x732.png 1536w, https:\/\/gatlabs.com\/knowledge\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/Ranges-1-2-360x172.png 360w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1849px) 100vw, 1849px\" \/><\/p>\r\n<div class=\"q-py-xs\">If you apply configuration settings for all sections at the same time, they are checked in the following order: network config, users config, devices config. When any of condition is met, the data won&#8217;t be collected. The data GAT Shield servers have already collected will not be deleted.<\/div>\r\n<div>\u00a0<\/div>\r\n<div class=\"q-pt-xs\">Note that it may take a while for settings to propagate to extensions.<\/div>\r\n<h3>Networks monitoring<\/h3>\r\n<p>Admin can select<strong> Monitored Networks &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Whitelisting\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Allowlist<\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\r\n<p><strong>Monitored networks<\/strong><\/p>\r\n<ul>\r\n<li class=\"text-subtitle2 q-pb-sm\">Monitor only selected networks\/hosts.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<div class=\"q-pb-sm\" style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><strong>Empty list means GAT Shield will collect data and sync configuration for all networks.<\/strong><\/div>\r\n<ul>\r\n<li>For network addresses (that\u00a0<span class=\"text-bold\">must<\/span>\u00a0end with a CIDR) Shield will collect data for all hosts inside this network.<\/li>\r\n<li class=\"q-pb-sm\">For a device with multiple IP addresses (on different interfaces) if just one address matches the allow list then the device will be considered to be allowed.<\/li>\r\n<li>Use single host address (eg. 72.14.0.154) or network address (eg. 64.233.187.99\/8).<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-14024 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/gatlabs.com\/knowledge\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/Ranges-2.png\" alt=\"The networks section (1) under the monitoring ranges where the particular network can be added to be monitored (2). Select all registered Chrome devices at once. This is particularly useful for schools as it allows Admins only to monitor activity on school-owned Chromebooks.<\/p>\r\n<p><strong>Monitored devices <\/strong>(2)<\/p>\r\n<ul>\r\n<li>Empty list means GAT Shield will collect data and sync configuration for all devices, else only specified.<\/li>\r\n<li>Monitored device must be a correct Chromebook&#8217;s serial number.<\/li>\r\n<li>Use <strong>+Add: Device<\/strong> button (3) to configure settings for monitored devices.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<p><strong>Exclude devices <\/strong>(4)<\/p>\r\n<ul>\r\n<li>\u00a0If set, GAT Shield will NOT collect data and sync configuration for devices specified.
