Block a site using Site Access Control<\/h2>\r\n

GAT Shield allows your users to manage the end-user browsing. It will enable the Admins to create<\/strong> rules and block, allow<\/strong> (if blocked by another rule), and warn<\/strong> users when end-users visit different websites.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Site Access Control<\/h3>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

In Shield, navigate to the Site Access Control<\/strong> section<\/p>\r\n

The menu option will be expanded, where you can view different sections<\/p>\r\n

    \r\n
  • User-defined categories<\/li>\r\n
  • Predefined categories<\/li>\r\n
  • Rules<\/li>\r\n
  • Block partial content on pages<\/li>\r\n
  • Events<\/li>\r\n
  • Block page configuration\u00a0<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

    Navigate to User Defined Categories > New Category.<\/strong><\/p>\r\n

    There are a few ways to add a list of web pages to the rules.<\/p>\r\n

      \r\n
    • Via List or clipboard<\/strong><\/li>\r\n
    • Via Spreadsheet<\/strong><\/li>\r\n
    • Via Web Search<\/strong><\/li>\r\n
    • Via Recent Browsing<\/strong><\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n

      Each way uses a different method to add the URLs to the rule.<\/p>\r\n

        \r\n
      • List or Clipboard<\/strong> – enter the Site URLs to block them manually or via copy\/paste.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n

          \r\n
        • Create from a Spreadsheet<\/strong> – Create a new spreadsheet<\/strong> and add the Sites needed, or select an existing spreadsheet<\/strong> to enter the URLs.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n

            \r\n
          • Web Search<\/strong> – Search for a keyword and block or allow all sites found by the Search<\/strong>.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n

              \r\n
            • Recent Browsing<\/strong> – this is a list of URLs generated from the last 90 days’ browsing history.\r\n
                \r\n
              • When the spreadsheet is generated, it will be sent as an email to the Admin account.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n

                  • Use the generated spreadsheet and import from Spreadsheet > Select the existing spreadsheet. <\/strong>The generated spreadsheet will be shown as an option to be selected.\r\n

                    • Select the sheet, and the URLs will be added as a category of sites.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n

                          • Alternatively, copy and paste the URLs via the List or Clipboard option.<\/strong><\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n

                            Create the Rule<\/h3>\r\n

                            When the Site URLs are added, enter a name and description for the rule and click Create.<\/strong><\/p>\r\n

                            Activate the Rule<\/h3>\r\n

                            When the category is created, there will be a new button to click on the Create rule.<\/strong><\/p>\r\n

                            You will see a new window. Fill in the details.<\/p>\r\n

                              \r\n
                            • Rule name<\/strong> – enter the rule name.<\/li>\r\n
                            • Category<\/strong> – the newly created category name will be shown.<\/li>\r\n
                            • Action<\/strong> – select the action to be done, such as blocking or allowing the URLs.\r\n
                                \r\n
                              • Redirect – enter a page where the users will be redirected if they visit the blocked site (optional).<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<\/li>\r\n
                              • Scope<\/strong> – select\u00a0the users to whom the rule applies.<\/li>\r\n
                              • Create<\/strong> – click to create the block or allow the rule.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n

                                Result for the User-defined Categories<\/h3>\r\n

                                After creating the rule, you can find it under Rules.<\/strong><\/p>\r\n

                                As a result of the created Site Access Control rule, the end-users (scope of users) will be affected, and the social media and gaming websites will be blocked.<\/strong><\/p>\r\n
