When a file has been shared, the owner can allow viewers and commenters to download, print, and copy the file. Sometimes this is necessary other times this may be a mistake. The word Restrict means that viewers and commenters don’t have the privilege to download, print, and copy.<\/p>\n

Viewers and Commentors can’t download, print, and copy<\/h5>\n

When Viewers and Commenters on files can not download, print, and copy the flag “Restricted” will be applied to the file.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

If a file is shared with a viewer and commenter but you don’t see this flag, this means those users can download, print, and copy the file as they wish.<\/p>\n

Enforce Restricted (disable download\/print\/copy – Viewers and Commenters can’t download and copy<\/span><\/h3>\n

Navigate to\u00a0GAT+ \u2192 Drive \u2192 Apply custom filter<\/strong> to find the files you are investigating.<\/p>\n

Applying the policy<\/span><\/h3>\n

When the index is complete and results are displayed.<\/p>\n

  1. Select the file \u2013 click on the checkmark beside the\u00a0Title\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n
  2. Click on\u00a0File operations\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n
  3. Select\u00a0Enforce \u201cRestricted\u201d (disable download, print, copy)\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Note:<\/strong> If Restricted mode enabled – Viewers and Commenters can not<\/strong> download, print, or copy the Files<\/p>\n

    When the option is selected, a pop-up message will be displayed.<\/p>\n

    2. Shared Drive files<\/strong> if a drive allows<\/strong> for that<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
