GAT Shield is one of GAT Labs\u2019 family of tools \u2014 It\u2019s an\u00a0audit, reporting, and security Chrome Extension<\/strong>\u00a0for your Google Workspace environment.<\/p>\n

GAT Shield helps admins protect their Google Workspace users by monitoring all activity and providing real-time DLP on ALL sites.<\/p>\n

Shield reports all the browsing activity<\/strong> done by the users while in a Chrome browser<\/strong> session.<\/p>\n

For easier and more focused filtering of the growing activity by the users, we can set up a Browsing tag.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Browsing Tags<\/h3>\n

One drawback of this function is that it is very specific, as the site URL is only one particular part of a site.<\/p>\n

However, GAT has a way around this, too, using\u00a0‘Browsing Tags’<\/strong><\/p>\n

Browsing Tags\u00a0<\/strong>allow the user to enter a more general rule for auditing time on a specific site.<\/p>\n

For example, the admin can create a browsing tag called ‘News’<\/strong> and add<\/strong> the ‘bbc.com’ and others into a Tag.<\/p>\n

Create tag<\/h3>\n

Navigate to GAT Shield > Configuration > Browsing tags > New browsing tag\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

  • Site – enter site URLs<\/li>\n
  • Tags – enter a tag for the sites added<\/li>\n
  • + Click on the + (plus) button to add the tag<\/li>\n
  • Create – click to create the tag<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    The admin can then filter for browsing tags and enter ‘News websites’<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

    If a user has visited any URL on the “cnn.com” or “rte.ie” or “bbc.com”<\/strong> domain, all the data from all browsing on those sites will be assigned to the same “news websites” tag.<\/p>\n

    Note – the data shown will be for the last 24 hours – on the top right corner, you can pick a different time frame.<\/p>\n
