{"id":2679,"date":"2022-05-24T11:21:39","date_gmt":"2022-05-24T10:21:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/gatlabs.com\/knowledge\/?post_type=docs&#038;p=2679"},"modified":"2025-07-18T15:19:30","modified_gmt":"2025-07-18T14:19:30","password":"","slug":"exclude-private-ips-from-the-audit","status":"publish","type":"docs","link":"https:\/\/gatlabs.com\/knowledge\/tech-tips\/exclude-private-ips-from-the-audit\/","title":{"rendered":"Exclude private IP&#8217;s from the audit"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>Exclude private IPs from the audit<\/h2>\n<p>When auditing network-related data, there tend to be some occurrences of IPs that are constant and universal for their purpose on the network.<\/p>\n<p>For example, 192.168.1.2 is a private IP address and is often used as a router IP or default gateway on many routers.<\/p>\n<p>In the User\/Device Geo reporting section of GAT+, we have added a feature that will allow admins to exclude these private IPs from the reporting audit so that more valuable and distinct data is presented.<\/p>\n<h3>Private IPs exclusion<\/h3>\n<p>To add the IPs you want to exclude, navigate to <strong>Configuration &gt; IP Addresses &gt; Exclusions.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In the middle of the screen, there is a +<strong> Add: Private IP<\/strong> button. Click on it.<\/p>\n<p>Then, a field above to enter the Private IP exclusion will be displayed. CIDR notation (eg. 192.168.0.15\/24) is not supported.
