By default when changing ownership to a new owner MyDrive\u00a0<strong>a shortcut<\/strong>\u00a0is created to the original file (this preserves permissions inherited from the folder where the file was placed)<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<\/li>\r\n<li><strong>Move file <\/strong>&#8211; By choosing this option you are requesting to\u00a0<strong>move files directly<\/strong>\u00a0to new owner MyDrive (note: inherited permissions can be lost in the process)\r\n<ul>\r\n<li><strong>Warning: <\/strong>If file has multiple parents they will be reduced to one. This change\u00a0<strong>cannot be reverted.<\/strong><\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<\/li>\r\n<li><strong>Deny access for old owner<\/strong> &#8211; By default when ownership is changed, the previous owner is added as an additional contributor<\/li>\r\n<li><strong>Untrash file<\/strong> &#8211; If any files are in the Bin folder, they will be restored and taken out of the trash during the ownership transfer<\/li>\r\n<li><strong>Custom path <\/strong>&#8211; Custom folder path for the files to be placed in, enter the folder name followed by the forward-slash (\/), for example, folderX\/\r\n<ul>\r\n<li>Without ancestry path (FM_requestId\/From email@domain.ltd\/&#8230;) &#8211; disable the &#8220;custom ancestory path created by GAT+<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Choose and fill in any additional changes you would like to do on the selected Files\/Folder.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Click\u00a0<strong>Next<\/strong>\u00a0to proceed, and in the\u00a0<strong>summary<\/strong>\u00a0tab, click on \u2018<strong>Send request<\/strong>\u2018.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Security Officer<\/h2>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>This will be sent an email notification to the\u00a0Security Officer\u00a0to approve the request.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>When the request\u00a0<strong>is<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>approved<\/strong>, the Ownership of the selected\u00a0<strong>Files<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Folder,<\/strong>\u00a0and <strong>subfolders<\/strong>\u00a0will be changed.<\/p>\r\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Ownership Change with GAT Unlock GAT Unlock feature within GAT+ allows Admins to\u00a0change ownership\u00a0of Google drive files.
