{"id":973,"date":"2021-11-25T16:27:33","date_gmt":"2021-11-25T16:27:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/gatlabs.com\/knowledge\/?post_type=docs&#038;p=973"},"modified":"2025-07-17T10:16:59","modified_gmt":"2025-07-17T09:16:59","password":"","slug":"gat-delegated-auditors-for-education","status":"publish","type":"docs","link":"https:\/\/gatlabs.com\/knowledge\/tech-tips\/gat-delegated-auditors-for-education\/","title":{"rendered":"GAT+ Delegated Auditors for Education"},"content":{"rendered":"\r\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Why create a delegated auditor in GAT+?<\/h2>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>By default, only Google Workspace Super Admins have access to the GAT+ tool.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>With the delegated auditors functionality, Super Admins can assign users to audit or analyze others within their domain without ever having access to the Google Workspace Admin Console (admin.google.com).<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>How is this useful? Unit &#8211; select org. unit of users to be the Auditors<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<\/li>\r\n<li><strong>Scope<\/strong> &#8211; select the users to whom the Auditor <strong>will audit and have access<\/strong> in GAT or Shield. Users will be under the scope of users that the Auditor will manage.\r\n<ul>\r\n<li>User &#8211; select the individual user to be the Auditor<\/li>\r\n<li>Group &#8211; select a group of users to be the Auditors<\/li>\r\n<li>Org. Can change Permissions and more like GSuite Administrator) &#8211; This is a special permission and allows the Auditor to have Full Admin privileges, the same as a Google Super Admin has using GAT+.<\/p>\r\n<blockquote>To enable this &#8220;Super Admin&#8221;, please contact us at <a href=\"mailto:support@gatlabs.com\">support@gatlabs.com<\/a><\/blockquote>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<ul>\r\n<li><strong>Valid to<\/strong> &#8211; select the time until the Auditor will be enabled.\r\n<ul>\r\n<li>Indefinite expiration period<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<\/li>\r\n<li><strong>Active<\/strong> &#8211; enable or disable the Auditor<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-965\" src=\"https:\/\/gatlabs.com\/knowledge\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/2021-11-25-15_18_48-Window.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1176\" height=\"338\" srcset=\"https:\/\/gatlabs.com\/knowledge\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/2021-11-25-15_18_48-Window.png 1176w, https:\/\/gatlabs.com\/knowledge\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/2021-11-25-15_18_48-Window-300x86.png 300w, https:\/\/gatlabs.com\/knowledge\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/2021-11-25-15_18_48-Window-1024x294.png 1024w, https:\/\/gatlabs.com\/knowledge\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/2021-11-25-15_18_48-Window-768x221.png 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1176px) 100vw, 1176px\" \/><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<ul>\r\n<li>Click on\u00a0<strong>Save\u00a0<\/strong>to create the Delegated auditor.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Additional Privileges for Education Domains<\/h3>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>When a GAT+ delegated auditor policy is active, you can give the auditor additional privileges. Those privileges allow the Auditor to make changes via Export\/Import functionality.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>With these additional privileges, the auditor can<\/p>\r\n<ul>\r\n<li>Export any metadata to a Google spreadsheet<\/li>\r\n<li>Edit any field in the spreadsheet<\/li>\r\n<li>Import the spreadsheet back in to confirm the changes.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<blockquote>Note: A <strong>Super Admin<\/strong> has these types of privileges by default.<\/blockquote>\r\n<p>In <strong>Delegated Auditors &gt;<\/strong> click on &#8220;<strong>lock icon<\/strong>&#8221;
