target market
GAT Labs addresses the Education market with enhanced cloud security.
There has been a lot of focus on cloud security in terms of secure connections and user authorization, yet there are relatively few products addressing security in terms of user behaviour and active user monitoring in the cloud.
More oversight for
education domains
While on-prem users are relatively easier to monitor and report on by capturing all network traffic, the cloud opens up the possibility of access from anywhere, to any platform, using a corporate account.
GAT Labs addresses the security implications this brings by giving education domains the same oversight (and more) they would get if users were on-prem.
If the user is on a corporate account, GAT is on its case. This is achieved via a combination of API access and management controls (which on its own is not enough), as well as in-browser access and management capabilities.
Because of the early adoption of Google Workspace by schools, GAT Labs was chosen as their security platform. GAT Labs has then found a rich and unexpected market in the education sector, monitoring and protecting K12 students in the US and across the world.
This has given us the unexpected advantage of working with very large domains, from tens of thousands to hundreds of thousands of users.
In return, we were able to bring our extensive experience of detailed auditing and security enforcement at scale, to enterprise users.
We openly invite comparison against our competitors in all areas, from breadth of reporting and functionality, to speed of technology.
GAT Labs is the Global leader in Google Workspace reporting, auditing and enhanced security — with products presently covering Google Workspace and Chrome, but designed to operate across multiple platforms.
Potential Market
size
Our own research shows that Google Workspace is a cloud portal for at least 50% of businesses that have moved their email and office environments to the cloud (based on a sample size of 10 million+ active domains). Through Chrome this portal offers not only the ability to protect the cloud user in Google Workspace, but also in any browser based cloud environment using GAT Shield.
The target market for GAT Shield, our Chrome product, is probably around 0.5 Billion in the Google for Education environment.
According to Google’s latest figures, there are 2 Billion+ active Chrome users. It seems a fair estimate that at least 25% of these users use Chrome in an Enterprise or work environment. As GAT Shield moves to other browser platforms, the target market is expected to exceed 1 Billion.
Ability to scale
As a cloud platform product family, GAT’s software is inherently designed to scale. The server architecture is designed to increase in instance size as load increases, with the distributed databases designed to absorb almost any load.
Additionally, the design allows for private instances, strictly sticking to the same code base and architectural model, but with the ability to run on private instances for particularly security-conscious education customers.
