With the new Principal feature in Teacher Assist, school leaders get real-time visibility into active Google Classroom sessions, alongside clear reports on attendance, site rules, and teaching time. It’s built to give principals the visibility they need to support effective teaching without getting in the way.

How to Enable the Principal Feature #
Admin can enable the Principal feature as well as the Report feature
- Navigate to “Teacher Assist” > Configuration > Access Rights > New Access Right
- In the New Access Right, fill in the details
- Add area – principal
- Access – granted
- Scope – select who to be the “principal”
- Principal scope – select who the principal can audit
- Click “Create” to save.
By following these steps, the “Principal” feature will be successfully enabled for the specified user in the domain.

Additionally, the Admin can enable Access to report to the same Principal user.
New access right, select area – Access to reports and create for the principal.

Once enabled, the user for whom this function is enabled will be able to access and view the Principal feature.
The principal logs into Teacher Assist.
View Live Classes #
The live sessions allow the Principal to view all currently active classroom sessions that are happening in the domain.
View all the currently active classroom sessions.
Watch the session live by clicking on the “View Session” button.

Purpose of “View Session”:
- Clicking “View Session” opens a classroom session, allowing the principal to observe teachers and students in real-time.
- The principal will see what the teacher sees in the Classroom session.

Access to reports #
When the Admin grants the Principal access to Reports, the Principal can also view and review all the reports they need for the use of Teacher Assist.
Session report #
The session report will show reports for Teacher Assist activity on a selected time period and can also be filtered by classroom or teacher.

Attendance report #
Attendance report shows the attendance of students in classrooms, shown as average attendance and missed sessions.
Filter by date range, classroom, student, or teacher.

Teacher sessions report #
This report will be a list of all teachers and the number of sessions they had in a filtered time.
It will show the Average time, Max time, and Total time for the session
